NILES - Niles High School senior Rick Storm was the only area athlete to be named to the 2005 Academic All State honorable mention list by the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association (MHSFCA).
Storm played tight end and linebacker for the Vikings last season and was a key defensively for Niles.
He was also a member of the 2004 football team, which earned a Division 3 honorable mention on the Academic All State Football Teams list.
Regional Coach of the Year went to Berrien Springs head coach Tim Sunday and Edwardsburg head coach Kevin Bartz in Region 7.
In Region 8, Lakeshore head coach Denny Dock earned the Regional coach honors along with Battle Creek Harper Creek's Ed Greenman and Dave Warmack of Paw Paw.
