NILES - One dangerous intersection in Niles Township will be receiving a left turn light and another won't be.
Just a few weeks ago it was announced at the Niles Township Board meeting that left turn lights would be installed at the intersection of South Third Street and US-12 and at the corner of South 11th Street and the entrance to Lowe's, but both of those lights will not be installed.
The intersection of South Third Street and US-12 will be receiving a light but the intersection near Lowe's will not.
Noble explained MDOT informed the township in a letter that the light near Wal-Mart and Lowe's will not be installed due to a lack of delay in traffic for the south bound lane.
Noble said MDOT stated in their letter to the township that one of the main reasons the light is being installed at the intersection is due to the number of accidents.
