Eddies open season with victory

BLOOMINGDALE - The Edwardsburg varsity basketball team opened up its season with a road win Tueaday night.
The Eddies (1-0) outscored host Bloomingdale 37-22 in the second half to earn the come-from-behind win.
Bloomingdale led just 13-11 after one period of play, but outscored Edwardsburg 17-7 in the second quarter to open up 30-18 halftime lead.
The Eddies began their comeback in the third quarter as they cut the Cardinals' lead down to 40-34.
Edwardsburg tossed in 16 third quarter points, while holding Bloomingdale to just 10 points.
In the fourth quarter Edwardsburg completed the rally by outscoring the Cardinals 21-12.
Adam Hancock led a trio of Eddies in double figures with 15 points.
Edwardsburg also got 13 points from Tony Hayes and 11 points from Zac Boellenbacker.
Bloomingdale was led by Julian Farman's 21 points. No other Cardinal reached double figures.
The Eddies return to action on Friday when they host Bridgman at 7 p.m.
