NILES - The 21 students in Niles High School's journalism class will get the chance to hone their writing skills and put those on display before all in the Niles community.
The students have taken charge of writing articles and taking photographs for the district's annual report to the Niles Community, which will be published as part of Horizons 2006 in the Niles Daily Star and The Leader.
Superintendent Doug Law talked with the students Thursday morning about working on the project.
Last year, Law and Rob Babler, who was teaching the journalism course at the time, talked about the students taking the publication over and now with the work of the new journalism teacher, the students will get to show the community what they can do.
Law began talking with the students about what direction they should think about taking with the publication.
Law encouraged the students to do their very best on this project as it goes out to a large readership in the Horizons publication and it is also used by the district as a public relations piece.
