CASSOPOLIS - The Greater Niles Community Federal Credit Union is expanding.
On Tuesday, credit union employees and members of the Cassopolis/Vandalia Chamber of Commerce gathered to break ground, or rather asphalt, for the Greater Niles Community Federal Credit Union which is opening a new branch in the Village of Cassopolis.
Completion and opening of the Cassopolis branch is scheduled for July 2006.
The new credit union will be located in the 900 block of East State Street, just west of the golf course and next to the former Haggin Wimberley auto dealership.
Opening in Cassopolis will allow the credit union to serve everyone who lives, works, worships, learns or belongs to an organization in Niles, Howard and Niles Townships and all of Cass County, Backus said.
The Cassopolis branch of the credit union will offer the same services to its customers as they receive at the Niles branch.
Donna Rhodes, a current Greater Niles Community Federal Credit Union employee and Cassopolis resident, has been named the branch manager.
