NILES - Anything which can help to cut down the cost of the football field light project at Brandywine High School for the school district is greatly appreciated.
At Monday night's Brandywine Community Schools Board of Education meeting the Niles Wal-Mart Super Center and Frito-Lay presented the Brandywine Education Foundation with a $500 donation.
Gary Rider, superintendent of the Brandywine Community Schools, thanked Collins and Davis on behalf of the Board for their donation and said the money will be put towards the light project.
In other business, the board discussed further the process of acquiring bids for the management of its food service department.
Our goal with the bids is to look at what we are currently doing and then compare it to the cost of what the companies say it would cost for them to run things, Furney said.
Once the application is approved, Furney said a pre-bid meeting will be held on Dec. 5 for any companies interested in the job. Bids from the companies would be due on Dec. 22. An administrative team will take a look at the bid and hopefully bring a recommendation to the board on Jan. 9.
