NILES - The Ring Lardner eighth grade Blue team improved its record to 3-1 with a 48-39 win over Benton Harbor Fairplain on Monday night.
The Vikings trailed Fairplain 12-7 after the first quarter and took control in the second, giving them a 27-18 lead entering halftime.
Niles was led in scoring by Mitch Peterek with 18 points, Cameron Sly with 1, and David Gardner with 10.
An outstanding defensive effort was put in by Alex Bellaire and Josh Fedeli.
The Vikes' next game is Thursday at St. Joe.

victorious over Benton Harbor
The Niles Gold team grabbed another victory Monday, defeating Benton Harbor Fairplain 44-40.
Niles once again came out with a balance scoring attack. Justin Utley led all scorers with 10 points followed by Shawn Holland with nine. Andrew Wortham and Christian Ezell both added eight points each.
The Vikings' Next opponent they will face will be St. Joseph on their turf.
