Christian tops Berrien, Coloma, Eddies

Visiting Kalamazoo Christian defeated Berrien Springs, Coloma and Edwardsburg in the Berrien Springs Quad at Indian Lake Hills Golf Course on Thursday, Aug. 25.
The Comets shot 157, while Coloma was second with a 174. Berrien Springs finished third with a 175 and Edwardsburg fourth with a 177.
Kalamazoo Christian's Ryan Zwier and Berrien Springs' Mike Wilson tied for medalist honors with a 39.
Edwardsburg was led by Khris Merrill who shot 41. The Eddies also got a 44 from Ryan Stoneburner, a 45 from Nate Harness, a 47 from Ryan Morrell-Peters, a 48 from Mike Fantetti and a 49 from James Hentz.

Edwardsburg won the Lakeland Conference junior varsity golf match at Hampshire Country Club on Aug. 23.
The Eddies and Brandywine tied with team scores of 195, however, the Eddies were awarded the victory bases on sixth-man scoring.
Coloma finished third with a 202, while River Valley was fourth with a 206, Berrien Springs fifth with a 218, Bridgman sixth with a 233, Cassopolis seventh with a 233 and Buchanan eighth.
Buchanan did not have enough golfers finish to accumulate a team score.
Nate Harness led the Eddies with a 44. Derek James shot 48 with Tanner Leininger shooting a 51.
The Eddies also got a 52 from Adam Derda, a 53 from Will Brubaker, a 54 from Michelle Eaton and a 67 from Drew Jones.
