NILES - Condemned signs have been posted on the store-front windows of each of the empty stores in the Eastgate Shopping Center in Niles Township.
Currently the Dollar General store is the only business open in the complex, which is located on Oak Street in Niles.
Kennedy added after talking to the management team they seem to want to bring the shopping center back to life, by fixing it up and trying to attract businesses to open in the available spaces.
When contacted about the condemning of the building, Niles Township Code Enforcement Officer Stefanie Goodrich, requested any questions be put in writing. At press time, no response was received from Goodrich.
Niles Township Fire Chief Gary Brovold said, "The township is still sorting some things out with this situation and more information about it will be available at a later time."
No other township officials could be reached for comment.
