Participants in The Human Race began a 10K/5K run, 5K walk or a 1K fun walk that started at Fernwood Botanical Gardens and Nature Preserve in Buchanan Saturday morning.
The Human Race included representatives of 25 local nonprofit agencies, schools and faith communities that were able to raise funds through this event. Justin Gillette was the overall winner of the 10K race and Melissa Lehman of Niles was the female winner of the 10K race.
Jake Gillette of Niles was the winner of the 5K run and Torie Eager of Buchanan was the female winner. Clarence Grimm was the male winner of the 5K walk and Nada Kramp of Stevensville was the female winner.
