Shooting leads to arrest in village

EDWARDSBURG - Police Chief Kenneth Wray reported Saturday, June 11, his officers responded to a shooting at Section and Max streets in the village which led to the arrest of Max M. Ross on preliminary felonious assault charges.
A minor victim stated she and her brother were at a residence at Section and Max streets when an argument started with an ex-boyfriend of their mother's.
According to the victims, a physical altercation took place.
Upon leaving the residence, Ross, 42, allegedly shot at their vehicle, striking the driver's side rear passenger door. No injuries were reported.
Deputies from the Cass County Sheriff's Office, along with several members of the Ontwa Township-Edwardsburg Police Department, executed a search warrant on the Section Street residence.
Weapons were removed from the residence that were suspected to have been used in the assault, Wray reported.
