NILES - Niles Main Street will celebrate the completion of the Niles Market Study and formally kick-off the implementation phase at a "Jump Start Rally" on Tuesday, June 21 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Bell building at the corner of Third and Sycamore streets in downtown Niles.
Jay Schlinsog and Lisa Bennett from Downtown Professionals Network (DPN), the Batavia, Illinois-based consulting that helped Niles Main Street create the plan, will facilitate the rally.
The rally will focus on "first steps" for the plan's implementation. Niles Main Street committees and volunteers are already springing into action, getting a head start on various projects and strategies promoted in the plan. The implementation plan looks three, five, even 10 years ahead. While some projects will be more readily achievable, it will be important to promote an understanding of how today's actions will impact long-term strategies and goals as described in the community's vision for Niles.
Niles volunteers are taking that approach to heart. The opportunities to make positive changes happen and to realize success will be directly dependent on our continued ability to involve community leaders, business people and residents in important decision-making process and throughout all phases of implementation.
