NILES - It's the time of year when people get out their newspaper and go through the classifieds section to see where the local garage sales are located. Residents of Niles won't have to look too far this week.
Croteau added that the downtown merchants also get a chance to be involved with this event by putting tables out front and having sidewalk sales.
On Saturday, June 4, the third annual Great Niles Garage Barrage, will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in downtown Niles.
Booth spaces are available on both sides of Main Street from Front Street to Fifth Street.
One of the cities parking lots will be available for those residents who are wishing to sell larger items out of their pickup truck or van.
The purpose of the event is to give the residents of Niles the chance to clean out their basements, garages and attics and to come to downtown Niles for a day of fun buying and selling.
Spaces for the Garage Barrage are still available to anyone that would like to participate at a cost of $20 for a 10 foot space or $40 for a parking lot space. Participants must provide their own tables and chairs. For further information contact the Niles Main Street office at 687-4332.
