Kory Bridges gets 11th pitching win, breaks school record

NILES - It was another record breaking night at Brandywine High School as the Bobcats hosted the Three Rivers Wilcats for one last regular season game before the start of its districts on Saturday.
Brandywine walked away with the 6-1 win and pitcher Kory Bridges was again successful at breaking another school record for the Bobcats.
Not only did he grab his 180th strike out Wednesday afternoon, but he received his 11th win on the mound, breaking the record for most wins in a single season.
The old record was set by Tom Ely, Jeff Hatch and Bridges.
Zach Bennett picked up the save for Bridges taking over in the sixth inning and also gave Brandywine two RBIs.
Justin Ely also added two RBIs for the Bobcats.
Matt Wieger was also a top hitter with a triple and a single. Wieger also got his 44th stolen base of the season.
Brandywine will face Berrien Springs in the opening game of the semifinals at Berrien Springs High School at 10 a.m. Saturday morning.
The Shamrocks defeated Bridgman 6-5 Tuesday evening in nine innings in the opening game of Division 3 Districts.
The winner of Saturday mornings game will advance to the finals set to begin at 1 p.m.
