Blossomland soccer breaks for holiday

DOWAGIAC - The Blossomland Soccer League will take a break for the Memorial Day weekend.
League play will resume on Wednesday, June 1 when the Mariners host the Dowagiac Chiefs at Ott Field in Bridgman.
Dowagiac Diamonds United continues to lead the league with a perfect 4-0 record.
The St. Joe Kickers are currently second with a record of 2-0-1. The Chiefs are 2-1 on the year, while Jaier F.C. is 2-2.
Whirlpool United is 1-0-1 and P&R F.C. is 1-1. The Tornadoes are 1-2, while the Rangers F.C. are 0-3 and the Mariners are 0-4.
Diamonds United leads the league in scoring with 28 goals. The Kickers are second with 21 goals, while Jaier is is third in scoring with 14 goals.
Ismael Hernanez of Diamonds United remains the league's individual leading scorer with eight goals.
Jay Fettig of the Kickers and Troy Sink of Jaier are tied for second with six goals. Andrew Low of the Tornadoes is fourth in scoring with four goals.
There are six players tied for fifth with three goals each.
They are Octavio Hernandez (Diamonds United), Rodolfo Hernandez (Diamonds United), Kyle Kowalski (Chiefs), Jonatan Martinez (Diamonds United), Hector Requenez (Diamonds United) and Nick Sherrill (Kickers).
The highest scoring match of the season to date was a 13-0 win by Diamonds United over Rangers F.C. on May 10.
The lowest scoring match of the year was a scoreless tie between the Kickers and Whirlpool United on May 17.
