Meth lab found in Jefferson Township

CASSOPOLIS - Cass County Drug Enforcement Team announced the arrests of three individuals at the scene of a methamphetamine lab on May 17.
At approximately 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, a landowner on Evans Street in Jefferson Township contacted Cass County Central Dispatch with information that a vehicle was parked in a woods on his property.
The landowner advised that when he went to investigate, he observed the vehicle take off at a high rate of speed and other persons run into the woods.
Drug team investigators arrived at this location and discovered the remnants of a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory in the woods.
A short time later a search of the area turned up three individuals, all hiding in the area of the meth lab.
Two of these individuals attempted to run and were apprehended.
With information gained from the landowner and evidence found at the scene, all three subjects were arrested.
They have been charged with a number of methamphetamine-related charges, including manufacturing with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
The subjects were lodged in the Cass County Jail pending arraignment.
