Very important week for Vikings boys track team

NILES - The Michigan Interscholastic Track Coaches Association (MITCA) will hold its team championships on Saturday at various sites.
Niles will compete in the Division 2 state team championship, which will be held at Corunna High School beginning at 9:30 a.m.
The MITCA Team Championships are open to all regional winners. If a regional winner decides not to attend the event, then the runner-up may compete. If the second place team chooses not to compete, then an at-large team will be invited.
The following teams are eligible to compete at Corunna on Saturday:
Forest Hills Northern, Williamston, Cedar Springs, Yale, Trenton, Grand Rapids South Christian, East Lansing, Ludington and Ypsilanti.
Niles captured the Division 2 regional championship Friday night at Allegan High School.
It was the Vikings' first regional title in 20 years.
The Division 1 and Division 4 MITCA Team Championships will be held at Gobles High School, while the Division 3 title will be contested at Kent City High School.
The track team will be competing against the East and Central divisons of the Big 16 today at noon St. Joseph High School.
