Lady ‘Cats win Clinton Tourney

NILES - Brandywine's softball team picked up a championship win Saturday at the Clinton Tournament by allowing the fewest runs in the three games played.
The Bobcats defeated Mishawaka Jefferson in the first game 4-3, Clinton in the second game 1-0 and took the 3-1 loss against Mt. Pleasant in the final game, but still grabbed the win.
Kelli Zache picked up wins in the first two games and suffered the loss in the final game to bring her record to 19-5. Zache had a combined 21 strike outs and only allowed two walks on the day.
Zache also led the way offensively in all three games with a triple, two doubles and two RBIs.
Becky Medlin was also a top hitter for Brandywine getting a double, single and two RBIs.
The Bobcats, now 24-6 overall, will host Niles on Wednesday for a pair of non-conference games set to begin at 4:30 p.m.
