BUCHANAN - The Buchanan Area Ministerial Association will be honoring the Buchanan High School graduates of 2005 at the annual Baccalaureate Service this Sunday, May 22. The guest speaker at this year's service is 1967 Buchanan High School graduate, Dr. Robert White.
Dr. White is the Director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. White, along with being the author of a variety of books and articles on Perinatology and Neonatal care, is the head of a group of Memorial doctors who encourage physicians to serve the spiritual needs of patients within the hospital or in their private offices and to help legitimatize spirituality as a part of medicine. White's committee serves to simply make doctors feel more at ease with discussing spiritual matters with patients, as well as praying with them.
Baccalaureate is a worship service to thank God for his blessings and ask God for his future blessings for the graduating students.
The Buchanan High School Baccalaureate Service will be held on May 22 at the First Presbyterian Church at 3 p.m. The First Presbyterian Church is located at 115 W. Front Street in Buchanan.
