Easy win for Vikes baseball

NILES - Niles' varsity baseball team had no problem getting past Coloma Monday night picking up a 10-2 non-league win at the Comets' field.
Lyle Watson picked up the win on the mound only allowing one walk, five hits and getting six strike outs.
The Vikings got some big hits from Aaron Ralston who went 1-for-2 with a homerun.
Steve Clanton, Cory Coquillard and Ronnie Simmons all went 2-for-4, Jesse Sallak and James Bradshaw both went 2-for-4 with doubles, and Rick Storm went 3-for-4.
The Vikings scored seven runs in the first inning alone and picked up the other three in the sixth and seventh innings.
Niles may have picked up an easy win yesterday, but the real test will come today when the Vikes host St. Joesph for the Big 16 West Division Conference Title as both teams are 6-0 heading into today's game.
The first game is set to begin at 4 p.m. at Thomas Stadium.
The Vikings are currently 18-3 overall.
