Eddies perform well at St. Joe Relays

The Edwarsburg track teams finished fifth overall at the inaugural St. Joseph-Lakeshore Relays on Friday.
St. Joseph won the meet with a combined score of 154. Lakeshore was second with 143 points, while Temperance-Bedford was third with 141 points.
Portage Central was fourth with 123 points and Edwardsburg fifth with 72. Parchement, Dowagiac and Covert rounded out the order of finish.
The Eddies were fifth in the boys' scoring and seventh in the girls' scoring.
The Lady Eddies took first in the long jump relay as Lindy Allemon, Ricquelle Allemon and Stephanie Koontz finished with a distance of 43-7.25.
Edwardsburg took first in the boys' meet in the high jump and long jump relays.
The high jump team of Tony Hayes and Doug Shuttleworth cleared 11-8, while the long jump team of David Daniels, Shuttleworth and Chris Hayes finished with a distance of 57-7.75.
Edwardsburg was also fourth in the 1,600- and 400-meter relays.
In coed events, Edwardsburg was first in the shuttle hurdle relay as Lindy Allemon, Tony Hayes, Erin Eggleston and Daniels ran a time of 1:10.8.
The Eddies will return to the track on Saturday as they travel to Coloma for the Lakeland Conference meet.
