NILES - It was two very close baseball games, but in the end the Niles JV team was able to walk away with a doubleheader sweep against visiting Dowagiac Tuesday afternoon.
The Vikings swept the Chieftains 6-5 in the first game and 8-7 in the second.
Dustin Anderson picked up the win on the mound for Niles.
Top hitters for the Vikings were Kevin Ostrowski with two doubles, two RBIs and a single, Josh Beers with a double, RBI and two singles and Tim Hardy with a double and a RBI.
In the nightcap Drew Donohue picked up the pitching win for Niles and added three singles and a RBI.
Other top hitters were Hardy who also had three singles and a RBI, Ostrowski with a double, two RBIs and a single and Beers with two RBIs and a single.
