Bucks fall to Shamrocks in pair of LAC games

BUCHANAN - Buchanan's baseball team got a big taste of seventh ranked Berrien Springs Tuesday afternoon as the Bucks fell in two games 5-3, 11-0.
Buchanan played tough on both offense and defense in the first game, coming within one run of the Shamrocks in the sixth inning, but Berrien Springs held onto the lead and took the first game win.
Shelby Wood was the winning pitcher for the Shamrocks against Jeremy Lucas, who is now 3-4.
Mitchell Plott was the top hitter for the Bucks going 2-for-3 and Chris Baker went 2-for-4 with a double for Berrien Springs.
Buchanan ran out of fuel in the second game and the Shamrocks took advantage and grabbed the 11-0 game win in five innings.
Kolby Wood was the winning pitcher in game two against Kyle Tracey, who is now 3-5.
PJ Pollock was the top hitter for Buchanan going 2-for-3 and Darius Whitehead, Scott Snyder and Rocky Boswell all went 2-for-3 for Berrien Springs.
Berrien Springs is now 17-4 overall, 10-2 in the LAC. The Shamrocks picked up its conference losses to River Valley and also fell to St. Joseph and Watervliet.
The Bucks, now 7-14 overall, 3-9 in the LAC, will host its own Buck Classic Tournament on Saturday with the first game beginning at 10 a.m.
Berrien Springs will host Lakeshore on Friday for a non-conference doubleheader set to begin at 4:30 p.m.
