Bucks get swept by Eddies in pair of LAC games

NILES - Edwardsburg's baseball team may have gotten away with an easy 10-0 win in the first of two games Tuesday afternoon, but the Eddies had to work a little harder in the second game as Buchanan put up more of a fight.
The Eddies only won by three runs in game two, 13-10.
Jesse Johnson had three home runs on the night for the Eddies and Zac Rooney had one for Edwardsburg.
Rooney, now 4-0, was the winning pitcher for Edwardsburg in game one against Aaron Koziel.
Top hitters for Edwardsburg were Johnson with a home run and a double, Rooney with a home run, Jim Archambault, Brandon Stapleton and Monty Ort all had two singles and Steve Gowen had two singles and a double for the Eddies.
Buchanan was able to pull ahead of Edwardsburg early in the second game taking a 10-7 lead in the top of the third, but Edwardsburg quickly regained the lead by adding four runs in the bottom of the third and one run in the fouth and fifth innings to give them the 13-10 win.
Johnson was the winning pitcher against PJ Pollack and had two home runs for the Eddies.
Rooney added a double and a single, Archbambault had two singles, Gowen had three singles.
Buchanan's Kyle Tracey had two singles and a double and Jim Connors had a double.
The Bucks will host Berrien Springs next Tuesday for another pair of Lakeland Conference games set to begin at 4 p.m.
