BUCHANAN - Buchanan's varsity softball team fell in two games Friday afternoon to visiting Coloma, 10-1 and 5-3.
The Comets drove in four runs before the Bucks could drive in their first and only run in the bottom of the third in the first game.
One run in the top of the fourth, one in the sixth and four in the seventh gave the Comets the 10-1 win.
Helena Zandarski was the winning pitcher in the first game against Ashley Pointer.
Lizzy Thornton was the only hitter Buchanan, a double.
Ashley Mannino had a triple and three singles for the Comets. Andrea Balsis had three singles and Monica Hasse had two for Coloma.
Buchanan gave Coloma a little more run for its money in the second game only losing by two, 5-3.
The Comets scored their first five points in the first and second innings while the Bucks picked up their runs in the second and sixth innings.
Helena Zandarski was the winning pitcher against Pointer, who is now 6-7.
Tracy Brelowski had a triple and Leslie Niemier had a double for Buchanan.
Zandarski had a home run, triple and two singles for the Comets. Danelle Genovese had a triple and Melanie Galles and Jordan Partee both had doubles for Coloma.
Buchanan, now 4-4 in the Lakeland Conference, 6-8 overall, will travel to Centreville on Monday. Game time is set to begin at 4 :30 p.m.
