Niles Freshmen split with Edwardsburg

NILES - Niles' freshmen baseball team split a doubleheader with visiting Edwardsburg Thursday night at Thomas Stadium.
The Vikings won the first game 10-0, in four innings of play due to the mercy rule.
David Ralston earned the pitching win with six strike outs, no walks and only two hits.
Ralston is now 3-0.
Alex Welch suffered the loss in the second game. His record is now 3-2.
On the day Dan Holland and Welch each had a double and two singles.
Zack Sharkey added three singles and Josh Boyd had two singles for the Vikes.
"Since we are freshmen playing a mostly JV schedule its important that we do all the little things right, and we have done a great job of that. The team seems to have a great chemistry, and the future looks bright for Niles baseball," Racht added.
Niles is now 8-2 overall.
