Vikes get served

NILES - Niles tennis coach Rob Babler isn't too upset with his teams performance against St. Jospeh Wednesday afternoon.
The Vikes fell to the Bears 8-0, but played well against the team that has been ranked in the top five in the state for a few years now.
Ari Fernandez fell to Rob Dukesherer at No. 1 singles 3-6, 4-6. Fernandez fought back from being behind 0-5 in the second set and although he gave it a great effort, he couldn't pull of the win.
Vikram Arora defeated Colin Smith 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles Nate Fink suffered the 1-6, 2-6 loss to Chris Wagner and at No. 4 singles Nick Neumann couldn't pull of the win against Kerim Kaylan losing 4-6, 1-6.
At No. 1 doubles Dan Rods and Julian Freas took a 5-7, 2-6 loss against Danny Brash and Cory Hafer.
Nathan Smith and Jeff Pugh fell to Alex Keed and Hunter Ellis at No. 2 doubles 0-6, 0-6.
At No. 3 doubles Jon Poole and Mark Neeser suffered a 1-6, 1-6 loss to Adam Waite and Ben Baumgarten and at No. 4 doubles Levi Grooms and Skyler Mudd won the first set against Mike Dennison and Kevin Foster, but lost in the last two sets 1-6, 2-6.
Niles, now 3-3 overall, will host Parchment on Friday at home. Match time is set to begin at 4 p.m.
