DOWAGIAC -- Southwestern Michigan College announced that Sherman L. Ostrander, Superintendent of Edwardsburg Public Schools, will speak at the April 30, 2005, graduation ceremonies.
Ostrander was the Director of Financial Aide at Southwestern Michigan College from 1985 to 1987. He holds a bachelor's degree from Northern Michigan University and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Western Michigan University. Ostrander was selected as one of only 100 superintendents nationally for membership in the Superintendent's Institute of America. He is in his 10th year as Superintendent of Edwardsburg Public Schools.
He has been married for 31 years to wife Beverly, an elementary teacher, and has two sons, Brad and Michael.
Southwestern Michigan College's 38th commencement ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 30 at 11 a.m. in the Zollar Sports Center on the Dowagiac campus.
