NILES - Buchanan wrestler Todd Taylor will be joining the Junior National Wrestling Team in Fargo North Dakota this July.
Taylor, a sophomore at Buchanan High School, qualified for the team last weekend in Holt.
Out of the three members in the 112 weight class, Taylor had to win at least one match. He won the first one by technical fall to automatically qualify him for the team.
Before heading to North Dakota, Taylor will be sent to a few camps to get ready for the tournament.
This is a prestigous team made up of some of the best athletes in the state of Michigan. Once he reaches the tournament, Taylor will be competing against the best in the United States.
Taylor qualified for the state finals this past season and is now wrestles for the freestlye club at Buchanan. Taylor was also an honorable mention selection on the All-Southwest Michigan wrestling team.
Sponsorships would be greatly appreciated since the cost of the trip will be approximately $950.
