NILES - On Monday the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will start milling and resurfacing 4.2 miles of M-51 from the Indiana/Michigan state line to M-60 Business Route.
During work, there will be lane closures in each direction. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction at all times.
This nearly $775,000 project is expected to be completed in late May. MDOT expects improved traffic flow along M-21 and that it will promote safety.
The commitment by MDOT and the Granholm administration is to create jobs, improve quality of life and provide the highest quality transportation services for Michigan residents and businesses.
