NILES - Call it whatever you want, but the Niles varsity soccer team had one of the biggest soccer wins in history Monday evening with a 22-0 Big 16 victory over Benton Harbor.
With a score like that, most people wouldn't even think of soccer, which usually is a very low scoring game, but it's all true.
The Tigers only had nine players on the field, which is two shy of the actual number that are on the field at all times.
Niles coach Denise Peters is happy with the win, but what makes her even more happy is the fact that all of her girls were able to play.
Ashley Pingel scored the first three goals for the Vikings within the first two minutes of play.
Pingel led Niles with four goals, Danie Pulaski had three and Dagmar Hoffman and Yahkeema Moffitt both had two.
Abby Mitchell, Brittany Smith, Claire Molnar, Rebecca Teske, Agathe Audrain, Nicole Fink, Kara Sidorowicz and Tearria Murphy all added a goal for Niles.
The Vikings return to the field on Wednesday when they host Buchanan. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
