Lady Bobcat stay on top in LAC

EDWARDSBURG - The Brandywine varsity softball team remained undefeated in Lakeland Conference play on Monday with a sweep of host Edwardsburg.
The Lady Bobcats (8-4, 4-0 LAC) won the opening game 4-1 and then the nightcap, 3-1.
Kelli Zache (3-3) went the distance allowing one run on three hits with nine strike outs and no walks.
Brandywine banged out eight hits in the first game led by Dee Echevarria who had a single, a double and an RBI. Ashley Antus had two hits.
Jenna Bowman (2-3) suffered the loss for the Lady Eddies as she allowed four runs on eight hits with four strike outs. Bowman also did not walk a batter.
Edwardsburg (4-5, 2-2 LAC) finished with three hits.
In the second game Zache again picked up the victory to improve to 4-3 on the season. Zache allowed one run on six hits with 10 strike outs and one walk.
Brandywine finished with 10 hits led by Amanda Grice's three singles and an RBI. The Lady Bobcats also got two hits and an RBI from Antus and two hits from Echevarria.
Kelli Kretchman (0-1) suffered the loss for the Lady Eddies as she allowed three runs on 10 hits with one strike out and four walks.
Kretchman had two hits for the Lady Eddies, while Sam Fritsche had a pair of doubles.
