Buchanan wins Buck Indoor Tennis Tournament

BUCHANAN - The Buchanan tennis teamed opened up its season with a win on Saturday at its own Buck Indoor Tennis Tournament with a total of 17 team points.
Marshall placed second with 16 points, Whitehall third with 14 points and Vicksburg fourth with one point.
This is the second year in a row the Bucks have won their own tournament.
The entire tournament came down to the last match left on the courts at fourth doubles. Andrew Frederick and Andrew Scoggin made a huge comeback against Vicksburg which guaranteed the Bucks the team title.
Flight Champions in the tournament were freshman Harper Sulier with three singles, Korey Camp and Mike Otwell at one doubles, Andrew Gordon and Dustin Sieff at two doubles and David Wright and Dillon Bailey at three doubles.
Runners-up in the tournament were Ryan Skene at No. 2 singles, Mario Bonardi at No. 4 singles and Frederick and Scoggin at four doubles.
Bender also said his team was the only one to score in every flight and that team depth has always been Buchanan's trademark.
Buchanan will host another tournament this Friday. Match times are yet to be determined.
