Cassopolis Athletic Boosters holding meeting March 14

The next meeting of the Cassopolis Athletic Boosters will be held on Monday, March 14 at 7 p.m. in the teacher's lounge of Ross Beatty High School.
The meeting has been moved back one week because of the Miss Blossomtime pagaent.
Agenda topics will consist of bathroom update, track volunteers, baseball and softball field work days and the mailing of the athletic scholarship applications.
Please plan to attend. The boosters are responsible for funding of seventh and eighth grade athletics as well as providing equipment and support for all high school sports teams.
Lunker's will hold its 20th annual Bass Tournament on Eagle and Juno lakes on Aug. 6.
The tournament, which will run from 6:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., began taking entries on Monday. Fishermen are encouraged to sign up early as the tournament will fill up quickly.
Entry fee is $160 per two-man team. Starting order will be determined by the order in which entries are received. Based on a full 50-boat field, prize money will be as follows: First – $3,000, Second – $1,400 and Third – $1,000. Additional payouts will be determined by the number of boats entered.

Rangers 3-on-3 tournament March 19
CASSOPOLIS - Ross Beatty High School will sponsor the Cassopolis Rangers 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament on Saturday, March 19.
Cost per team is $60.
There is a great range of age brackets, starting with seven-year-olds playing on an eight-foot rim, and ending with an over 40 division.
All courts will have referees that will keep the game clean and fun for all participants.
Trophies will be awarded to the top three teams in each division. A traveling trophy will go to the winning elementary school and middle school.
There will also be a slam-dunk contest, both on an eight-foot rim and a 10-foot rim, as well as a three-point and free throw contest.
Entries are due by Monday, March 14. An entry form may be picked up at any of the Cassopolis school offices or by calling Rusty Stitt or Hiawatha Fancisco at 445-0511.
The Cassopolis junior high wrestling team faced the Coloma Comets on Wednesday, March 2.
Winning matches for the Rangers were Thanly Noringhang, Kyle Haithcox, Joe Fortuna, Corey Lowe and Cody Blad.
Winning twice was Scott Turnbow.
The Dowagiac Little League has announced that late sign-ups are still welcomed, but time is of the essence.
League officials are busy preparing for the upcoming season, and that requires having all players registered in a timely fashion.

League offers baseball and softball programs for boys and girls ages 5-16. The League is operated by a group of local volunteers focused on providing a fun and rewarding experience for all participants.

Any person desiring to be considered for manager/coach of a team is required to attend a League approved training session.
