DOWAGIAC - Authorities remained tight-lipped Friday evening about two bodies discovered about 12:30 p.m. Feb. 25 in the village of Pokagon.
Cass County Prosecutor Victor Fitz said two deceased individuals were found at 60914 Commercial St., the short one-way that connects M-60 to M-51 between Dowagiac and Niles.
Fitz declined to release details about the victims' identities, gender, cause of death or where in the house they were found.
Michigan State Police, Cass County Sheriff's Office, the county Major Crimes Task Force and the Drug Team were at the location throughout the afternoon, but it was not until a search warrant arrived after 4 p.m. that investigators could begin searching the residence to determine a cause of death.
Yellow tape circled the home and officials waited in cars while Chief Assistant Prosecutor Jason Ronning and Cassopolis Police Chief Frank Williams conferred.
Williams is a member of the Major Crimes Task Force.
The bodies were not removed from the house until evening.
Investigation on the deaths was to continue with more information expected to be released today, according to Fitz.
