Lady Vikes fall short to Marshall

NILES - The Niles varsity volleyball team lost in five games to Marshall in a SMAC crossover game Wednesday night.
The Vikings won the first game 27-25 and the third game 25-19, but lost 11-25 in the second, 2-25 in the fourth and 12-15 in the fifth.
Amber Peters had 25 assists, 21 kills, five digs, four points and two aces for Niles.
Karly Kennedy had 12 digs, two kills and two points. Claire Molnar had seven digs, six points and two kills. Melissa Oleson had 11 kills, one block.
Kaylee Bonner added 11 digs, nine points for the Vikings. Ashley Pingel had eight digs and eight points and Sam Brawley had 12 digs, one point for Niles.
The Vikings now stand at 15-14-11 overall. They will host Brandywine Monday, Feb. 14 for a non-conference game.
The Brandywine varsity volleyball team will travel to Coldwater on Saturday for the Colwater Invitational.
Pool play is set to start at 9 a.m.
