Ranger wrestlers fourth at Decatur tourney

DECATUR - The host Raiders and Dowagiac met once again in the championship match of the Chad Reeves Memorial Tournament on Saturday.
And, once again, the Chieftains came away victorious.
Dowagiac went a perfect 5-0 on the day to win another Decatur tournament championship.
The Chieftains defeated the Raiders, 51-18 in the title match.
Dowagiac also defeated Parchment, Olivet, Belding and Lawton to advance to the finals.
The Raiders made it to the title match with victories over Vicksburg, Lakewood, Mendon and Cassopolis.
Decatur ended up 4-1 on the day to finish second, while Belding finished third with a 4-1 record. Cassopolis finished fourth after going 3-2 on the day.
Olivet, also 3-2, finished fifth with Vicksburg finishing sixth, Lawton seventh, Mendon eighth, Parchment ninth and Lakewood 10th.
Edwardsburg wrestling
The Eddies finished second at the Paw Paw Invitational on Saturday.
Edwardsburg went 3-1, losing only to champ Three Rivers, who went 4-0 on the day.
Edwardsburg defeated Plainwell, 57-24, lost to Three Rivers, 64-12, defeated Lawrence, 57-12, and defeated Paw Paw, 54-30.
Going undefeated on the day for the Eddies was Andy Breslin (4-0).
Finishing with a 3-1 mark were Zach Wilfert, Tyler Carson, Alex Hall, Kevin Borton, Jim Fein and Joe Whtie.
Buchanan vs. Cassopolis
On a cold and snowy night when most athletic events were canceled, the Buchanan Bucks braved the roads and headed to Cassopolis for its Lakeland Conference match against the host Rangers.
The trip paid off for the Bucks, who defeated the Rangers at Ross Beatty High School, 46-33.
The loss was the first of the season for the Rangers in Lakeland Conference matches. Cassopolis is now 2-1 in the league.
Buchanan remained undefeated on the season (9-0) and is now 3-0 in the league.
The Bucks won matches at 103, 112, 119, 125, 145, 160, 189 and 275. All but one of those victories came by the way of pins.
Cassopolis won matches at 130, 135, 140, 152, 171 and 215. All but one of those wins came via the pin fall.
In junior varsity matches, Buchanan's Dan Tosh pinned James Spaulding in 28 seconds at 152, and Josh Duebner of Cassopolis' pinned Josh Denney in 5:47 at 189-pounds.
