Miss Cassopolis to be chosen Saturday

CASSOPOLIS - Time is drawing close for the next Miss Cassopolis to be chosen.
Six candidates are seeking the title of Miss Cassopolis 2005, with the winner going on to compete in the Miss Blossomtime 2005 pageant.
The 2005 Miss Blossomtime theme is "A Child's Dream," while the Miss Cassopolis Pageant coming to Ross Beatty Jr./Sr. High School Saturday at 7 p.m. will have the theme "Candy."
Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
Miss Cassopolis candidates include: Kayla Lawson, 17, a junior; Elyse Massey, 17, a senior; and Laura McIlroy, who turned 18, a senior; Ashley Solloway, 16, a junior; Ashley McCoy, 17, a junior; and Ashley Breden, who turned 17 on Christmas, also a junior.
Also chosen during the evening will be a Little Miss and Little Mister Cassopolis. This is the first year the Miss Cassopolis Pageant Committee is hosting a contest for the younger set.
Contestants have been practicing their dance for the opening number.
They will also be expected to be presented on stage and have a personal interview.
The winners of these titles will represent the community of Cassopolis for the year and also have the opportunity to compete in the Blossomtime Bud Prince and Princess pageant in Dowagiac at Southwestern Michigan College at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26.
