Who will be chosen Miss Cassopolis?

CASSOPOLIS - Drawing the 2005 Miss Blossomtime theme of, "A Child's Dream," the Miss Cassopolis Pageant coming to Ross Beatty Jr./Sr. High School in Cassopolis the evening of Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, will have the theme "Candy." Tickets are $10 presale and $12 at the door.
Six candidates are seeking the title of Miss Cassopolis 2005. They are required to be a resident of Cassopolis and be 17 years old, but not more than 21 years old, by March 1, 2005.
The winner will represent Cassopolis during the coming year and also compete for the additional title of Miss Blossomtime 2005.
The Miss Cassopolis candidates include: Kayla Lawson, 17, a junior; Elyse Massey, 17, a senior; and Laura McILroy, who turned 18 Saturday, a senior; Ashley Solloway, 16, a junior; Ashley McCoy, who also had a birthday Saturday and turned 17, a junior; and Ashley Breden, who will turn 17 on Christmas, also a junior.
Also chosen during the evening will be a Little Miss and Little Mister Cassopolis. This is the first year the Miss Cassopolis Pageant Committee is hosting a contest for the younger set.
Those participating must be between the ages of 5 years old by Sept. 1, 2004, and not more than 8 years old by Sept. 1, 2005.
Contestants have been practicing their dance for the opening number. they will also be expected to be presented on stage and have a personal interview.
The winners of these titles will represent the community of Cassopolis for the year and also have the opportunity to compete in the Blossomtime Bud Prince and princess pageant in St. Joseph in March.
