Cass falls to 0-2 after loss to Comets

COLOMA - The Cassopolis Rangers dug themselves another first half hole in which they could not get out of Tuesday night.
The Rangers (0-2 overall, 0-2 Lakeland Conference) have given up 54 first half points in two games. In its season opener on Friday at Bridgman, Cassopolis trailed 22-4.
Tuesday night in Coloma, the Rangers trailed 32-25 on their way to a 72-56 setback.
Cassopolis outscored the Comets in the second quarter, but still found itself down by seven at the intermission.
The Rangers trailed 22-12 after one period of play.
Coloma (1-1, 1-0) continued to pour it on in the second half as it held a 24-11 scoring advantage in the third quarter to extend its advantage to 56-36 heading into the final stanza.
Cassopolis did outscore the Comets 20-16 in the final eight minutes to make the score a bit more respectable.
Cassopolis' Kevin Luckey led all scorers with 26 points. The Rangers also got 10 points from Rodney Lewis. No other Ranger reached double figures.
Tyler LaVanway led a balanced Coloma attack with 19 points, Jermain Murphy added 16 points and Milo Jeffries tallied 12 points. Terrell Evans also finished in double figures with 11.

BRIDGMAN - The season opener for the Cassopolis Rangers didn't go exactly as planned here Friday night.
Host Bridgman (2-0 overall, 1-0 Lakeland Conference) outscored Cassopolis 22-4 in the first half en route to a 61-31 victory.
The Rangers (0-1, 0-1) were led by Ashton Danzy's 10 points. Transfer Kevin Luckey spent much of the game in foul trouble and finished with seven points.
Will Loux and Dan Stange each scored four points.
Dan Kunde led Bridgman with 15 points. Nate Lyman added 13 points.
The Rangers return to action on Friday night when it hosts Brandywine in its third consecutive Lakeland Conference contest.
Tip-off is scheduled for approximately 7:30 p.m.
