Brandywine's wrestlers picked up their second victory of the season in convincing fashion Wednesday. The Bobcats used six pins to coast to a 78-6 triumph over Covert at Coloma.
The Bobcats hung with a tough Comets team, but eventually fell 57-21 to split the day's meets. Brandywine is now 2-5 early in the season.
Against Covert, Adam Simons led the Bobcats with the fastest pin, 18 seconds in the 189-pound weight division. J.D. Miller at 125, Lance Taliaferro at 130, Jordan Bruni at 135, Coulter Kane at 145 and Justin Price at 152 also pinned their opponents.
Brandywine won all but one match versus Covert. The Bobcats won seven of those matches by way of forfeit.
The Bobcats had four winners against the Comets. Pat VanLaere at 119-pounds and Bruni at 135 pinned their opponents. Kyle Jones won in a 13-8 decision at 171, and Simons received a forfeit at 189.
The Bobcats are in action again Saturday at the Sturgis Invitational.
