Lady Rangers reach district final with win

WHITE PIGEON - Freshman Michelle James hit three, 3-pointers and scored a game-high 18 points to lead Cassopolis to the Class C District championship game Friday night.
The Lady Rangers (20-2) advanced to the title game with a 50-23 victory over Centreville Wednesday night at White Pigeon High School.
Cassopolis raced out to a 15-6 first quarter lead and never looked back.
The Lady Rangers outscored the Lady Bulldogs 10-2 in the second quarter to build up a 25-8 halftime advantage.
Cassopolis, which will face Colon (16-6) in Friday night's championship game, outscored Centreville 25-15 in the second half to cruise home with the victory.
Cassopolis also got 16 points from senior Jealyn Foston, while junior Kelsey Gordon added eight points.
Centreville was led by Patty Kool's seven points.
Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. on Friday.
Colon defeated Constantine 38-14 to advance to the championship game.
Melisa Jackowiak led Colon with 12 points.
