Lady Rangers romp

COLOMA - The visiting Cassopolis Lady Rangers outscored the host Comets 14-5 in the fourth quarter to pull away to a 49-37 Lakeland Conference victory her Thursday night.
Cassopolis (17-2 overall, 12-2 LAC) led 15-9 after one period of play and 22-18 at the intermission after Coloma outscored the Lady Rangers 9-7 in the second quarter.
Coloma (8-11, 6-7) outscored Cassopolis 14-13 in the third quarter to close the gap to 35-32 heading into the final stanza.
Cassopolis turned up the pressure on defense and pulled away in the final eight minutes.
Kelsey Gordon led all scorers with 18 points. Cassopolis also got 14 points from Jealyn Foston and seven points from Michelle James.
Coloma was led by Andrea Balsis' 15 points. Hannah Barrett and Melanie Galles added eight and six points respectively.
