Eddies, Rangers post big victories

The Cassopolis Rangers and Edwardsburg Eddies both posted lopsided victories Friday night.
The Rangers celebrated homecoming with a 60-0 victory over winless River Valley.
Edwardsburg traveled to Bridgman and came away a 41-14 victor.

The Rangers scored 53 points in the first half, including 33 points in the second quarter.
Kenny Brown rushed for four touchdowns.
Brown scored on runs of 5-, 11- and 12-yards for the Rangers, who improved to 3-4 on the year.
The Rangers opened with 20 first quarter points as E.J. Harris scored on a 5-yard run, Donnie Walker scored on a 36-yard run and Brown scored on a 5-yard run.
Justin Lee scored the two-point conversion to complete the first quarter scoring.
In the second quarter Brown scored on runs of 11- and 12-yards, while Cordero Williams scored on a 12-yard pass reception.
Paul Curtis completed the first half scoring with a 12-yard run.
Rodney Lewis added an extra point attempt following Brown's 12-yard touchdown run.
In the third quarter Brown scored again from 12-yards out and Lewis added the extra point.
The Rangers finished with 252 yards rushing and 54 yards passing.
The Rangers are 3-3 in the Lakeland Conference.

Edwardsburg outscored Bridgman 20-0 over the final three quarters to post its fourth victory of the season against four losses.
The Eddies also outscored the Bees 21-14 in a wild opening quarter.
Edwardsburg led 34-14 at halftime.
Matt Haughey, who also is the Bees' goalkeeper in soccer, scored on a 65-yard pass from Shawn Smith to open the scoring.
Jeff Mortimore scored the first of two consecutive touchdowns to give Edwardsburg the lead.
Mortimore scored on a 3-yard run to give the Eddies a 7-6 lead following Steve Gowen's extra point kick.
Mortimore then scored on a 1-yard run to extend the Eddies' lead to 14-6 after Gowen's kick.
Bridgman tied the score at 14 on a Boo Ott 5-yard pass reception from Zac Nemitz and Dan Kunde's two-point conversion reception.
Edwardsbur quickly reclaimed the lead as Ben Horton scored on a -yard run and Gowen connected on the kick.
The Eddies scored twice in the second quarter to open up their 20-point halftime lead.
Mat Peters scored on a 3-yard run and Monty Ort added a 10-yard run for the Eddies.
Gowen hit one of two extra points.
Edwardsburg capped off the scoring in the fourth quarter with a 4-yard Horton run and Gowen kick.
