Niles' guard/forward Brandie Radde will most likely be watching tonight's home game against Mattawn from the bench for the fourth straight game.
Radde, out since Sept. 25 with an ankle injury, may be out a few weeks longer according to Vikings' head coach Jim Arnold.
Radde reported soreness in her left ankle the week before Niles' game with Ottawa Hills on Sept. 25. She visited an specialist doctor in South Bend, Ind. on Sept. 28.
The reports from the doctor showed that Radde has adema in the tissue around her left fibula that could sideline her for a few more weeks.
Adema is a swelling of the soft tissue. It is caused by a bruise or sprain to the tissue. Arnold said Radde doesn't know how she got the injury.
The doctor told Arnold and Radde that there is no way to cure the swelling just rest. Arnold said Radde will sit out the next few games until her ankle feels better.
While Arnold said he wants her back as soon as possible, he doesn't want to risk causing further injury to Niles' star player and best shooter. Earlier this year, Radde, a junior, set the school record for most career 3-pointers.
Arnold estimated Radde may miss the next four games, give or take a few, putting her out two more weeks. He still isn't positive, however, when she will return.
