Edwardsburg jumped ahead in singles at Wednesday's varsity girls' tennis match, but Niles came back in doubles to force a 4-4 tie.
The Eddies took three of the four singles flights Wednesday. Niles' only singles winner was Mallory Zeigert at No. 2 singles. It took a 7-5 tie-breaker in the third set to decide the match, however.
The Vikings turned around and took three of the four doubles matches from Edwardsburg, though, to end the day tied with the Eddies.
Edwardsburg's sole doubles victory came at No. 3 doubles when Ally Weir and Bethany Marschke beat Katie Blaske and Heather Croteau in three sets.
Niles returns to action Saturday in the silver division of the SMAC conference tournment.
Edwardsburg plays Friday in the Lakeland Conference tournament at Leeper Park in South Bend, Ind.
