Lakeshore jumped ahead early Tuesday against Niles, partly with help from the Vikings. The Lancers then maintained their lead throughout the game, handing Niles' boys' soccer team a 4-0 loss, their second of the season.
Lakeshore's Aaron Wilke gave the Lancers the only goal they would need less than five minutes into the contest. Four minutes later, Lakeshore scored again off an own goal that deflected off a Niles defender.
Alex Boehm added another goal for the Lancers before halftime, and Niles was looking at a 3-0 deficit at halftime.
The Vikings' defense tightened up after the Lancers' third goal, holding Lakeshore scoreless for almost 60 minutes. Their offense couldn't catch up, as Niles remained scoreless.
Boehm added his second goal of the game with 1:53 remaining to finish the scoring.
Lakeshore out-shot Niles 16-8. Vikings' goal-keeper Cory Coquillard had 13 saves.
Niles' junior varsity team also fell to Lakeshore, suffering a 6-0 defeat.
