Driver arrested for operating vehicle under the influence of marijuana

From the Niles Police log:
On Sept. 1 at about 11:10 p.m., Niles City Police arrested Elizabeth B. Bryant, 23, of 52607 Helvie Dr., South Bend, Ind., for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs. The traffic stop was made at the corner of S. 15th and Silverbrook.
According to the police report, the officer could smell a strong odor of marijuana on Bryant's breath.
She allegedly stated that she had been smoking marijuana earlier in the evening.
On Aug. 30 at about 3:30 p.m., Niles City Police responded to a call of an assault with a deadly weapon in progress. The 9-1-1 call stated that a man wearing a white T-shirt and blue shorts had just displayed a knife threatening two victims.
Officers were able to locate the suspect, Maurice Cully Bland III, 44, 1640 Taft, Niles at the corner of 5th and Hickory.
Bland was taken into custody at this location. A search revealed that he had a small blue pocket knife in his pants pocket.
The knife matched the description of the weapon used in the incident.
Bland was also in possession of a crack pipe.
He was arrested pending charges of assault with a deadly weapon and possession of crack/cocaine.
