Crash on 12 kills motorcyclist

CASSOPOLIS - Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr., reports his office handled a fatal injury accident involving a motorcycle and a passenger car on U.S. 12 in Milton Township.
Sheriff's deputies responded to a personal injury accident on U.S. 12 near Brush Road, in Milton Township at approximately 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2.
A motorcycle being driven by Edward Hall, 69, of Dowagiac, was eastbound on U.S. 12 near Brush Road.
A westbound vehicle being driven by Linda Davis, 38, was turning left into a driveway on U.S. 12 when she failed to see the motorcycle approaching. Davis turned into the path of Hall, at which time the motorcycle struck Davis' vehicle on the passenger side with Hall and his passenger, wife Vera Hall, 68, of Dowagiac, being ejected from the motorcycle.
Edward Hall was transported to Lakeland Hospital in Niles by SMCAS ambulance where he died from his injuries.
Vera Hall was transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend, also by SMCAS ambulance, and was listed in critical condition.
Edward and Vera Hall were wearing helmets at the time of the accident.
Linda Davis and her passenger, Courtney Davis, 13, were both uninjured in the accident. They were both wearing seatbelts.
Assisting at the scene were the Edwardsburg Police Department, Michigan State Police Post 53 of Niles, Edwardsburg Fire Department, Edwardsburg Ambulance and SMCAS, the Southwestern Michigan Community Ambulance Service of Niles.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor. This accident remains under investigation by the Cass County Sheriff's Office.
