Buchanan's girls' tennis team kept on winning in Tuesday's dual meet against Dowagiac. Though the No. 3 and No. 4 singles were postponed because of rain, the Bucks were ahead five flights to one when the rain came.
Buchanan's four doubles teams led the way, as all four picked up convincing victories to seal the meet for the Bucks. None of Dowagiac's doubles teams won more than two games in any set.
Hannah Flood and Lizzy Thornton of Buchanan beat Amelia First and Lindsay Tyler of Dowagiac 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles.
At No. 2 doubles, Buchanan's Nicole Mayer and Katrina Weldy won 6-2, 6-1 over Dowagiac's Taylor Townsend and Cali Daniels.
Buchanan's No. 3 doubles team of Brittanee Smeltzer and Olivia Bonardi beat Kelli Schaus and Melissa Recle.
Leslie Niemier and Robyn Bahr picked up the final victory for the Bucks at No. 4 doubles, beating Dowagiac's Kim Rutkowski and Kayleigh Sundeman 6-1, 6-0.
Jaclyn Mummaw won her eighth match of the season, coming from behind in the first set to win it in a tie-break. Mummaw beat Barbara Laing 7-6 (7-1), 6-1.
The Chieftans' sole victory came at No. 1 singles, where Lisa Rubino beat Buchanan's Ashley Shepherd. Shepherd won the first set quickly, but Rubino charged back to win 2-6, 6-0, 6-2.
No make up date has been set for the No. 3 and 4 doubles matches. This is the second time these two teams have been rained out. Tuesday's meet was a makeup, rescheduled from when the two teams were rained out on Friday.
